Beyond notes and exam tips
Today, students have access to endless online notes, summaries, AI tools and exam tips.
While these resources can support learning, they do not replace real language practice.
In the Leaving Certificate exam, students are expected to speak, understand, respond and write independently — without AI, without notes and without prepared answers in front of them.
A different approach to Leaving Certificate French
At Language First Ireland, the focus is not only on learning about French, but on actively using French with confidence.
Students receive structured support, notes and guidance, but lessons are built around real interaction, speaking practice, listening comprehension and active participation.
The aim is not simply to memorise model answers or predicted topics, but to help students develop genuine communication skills and real confidence in French.
Classes are taught in very small online groups so that every student participates actively, asks questions, practises speaking regularly and receives personalised feedback.
This is not passive learning with cameras off and microphones muted.
Lessons are designed to keep students engaged, involved and progressing step by step through practical use of the language, guided interaction and meaningful communication.
Because success in Leaving Certificate French is not only about memorising notes or exam techniques , it is about being able to communicate confidently and independently on exam day.
